Asthma Vs. Cigarettes

June 11th, 2007 Posted in @Work

I was at a customer’s office one evening. They were having some cabling works done and it involves removing the false ceilings above their workstation.

When the workers were removing the part just above the CTO’s desk, dusts were falling down. The CTO promptly stood up and announced matter-of-factly:

All these dust is bad for my asthma…, I think I’ll go for a smoke.

My mind went blank for a moment.

Doctors use to give asthma patients a cigarette when they were waiting to be seen in the fifties, as they thought it would help with the stress.

I know, why did I post this silly comment?
