Everybody is exercising!

April 14th, 2006 Posted in @Miscellaneous

Everyone around me suddenly seem to have caught the fitness craze. Recently a lot of fitness centers are sprouting everywhere in the Klang Valley. We have Clark Hatch, Fitness First, Sweat Club, California Fitness and the new True Fitness. We also have the not-so-well known like Les Studios, Gold’s Gym KL and Techno Flex Fitness Club. Of course we have plenty of the not-worth-mentioning fitness clubs too.

A lot of my friends became fitness conscious recently and a lot of them having been signing up with various fitness centers. As for me, I joined Fitness First at USJ. I started out with zeal, setting goals and a schedule for myself. I know it would not be easy but I was determined to get fat. Yup, you heard it right. F-A-T. Fat. I wanted to gain weight and tone my body. So I signed up for personal training.

My trainer Kee is a pretty nice guy… when he’s not training me. Otherwise, he’s the drill sarjan from hell. After the first training session I was convinced that I’ve been to hell and back. The second session felt like a train just ran over me. The third session had me dread getting out of bed and entering the gym. By the fourth session, it was bearable. The fifth session was a lot better. Maybe because it was also the last session. But, it does make a difference to my body. I felt more alive, more energetic and vibrant. By the way, I’ve gained 5kg. 5 more to go. 65kg is my ideal weight. At least that’s what the doctor told me.

Gym is not a club house. You need discipline, motivation and determination. Every other day I had to make a conscious effort to drive to gym after work. I haven’t got the will power to wake up early for gym yet. But I’m working on it. I should be able to muster up enough will power by 2020. Now that I have gained some weight, my next immediate goal is to get my six pack. Right now my six pack are all-in-one.

Anyway, after seeing this picture posted at the gym, I’m convinced fitness is for everybody.

Funny picture! I want to start exercising, but I’m too lazy. I keep saying I need to go to the gym. By the time, I’m done with work, I just want to go home and veg-out.

    Keep up the good work!
