Metrosexual

October 8th, 2005 | No Comments | Posted in @Thoughts

This word came out quite often recently. For the benefit of those who don’t know its meaning; according to the Urban Dictionary it means:

A normally straight male who possesses qualities of a gay male without being attracted to men. A metro often appreciates the finer things in life and enjoys making himself look good; be it through styling his hair or wearing fashionable clothes.

There are people I know who makes fun of metrosexual because of their homosexual traits and tendencies (even though they are not gay). I find this amusing. Why? Because of the hypocrisy that is them. As far as I know, cavemen aside, all men wanna look good at one point or another. Either for special occassions/functions or to impress the opposite sex. Granted some men are more vain than others but bottom line as long as you care about your appearance and make effort to upkeep it (as far as I’m concerned) you’re a metrosexual.

To me, the most important thing is to be confident and assured about your own sexuality. Whatever others wanna say about you that’s their problem.

My first blog…

I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time now. What for you ask? Well for many reasons but mainly:

    1. to start some sort of journaling about what I’m going through this thing called life;2. to rave and rant cause nobody wanna listen;3. and just for the heck of it. You don’t like it? Buzz off…

I’ve identified a few categories that I wanted to talk about but I suspect that the more I blog the more the categories will increase. You’ve been warned.

Now what is the motivation for wanting to do this? I noticed that blogging is starting to be a trend. How so? Almost everyone and anyone is blogging nowadays. Topics can range from anything under the sun. Some people chose a particular topic to focus on, some have multiple topics or categories which are usually stuff they’re interested in (like mine) and others just blog anything that comes to their mind.

I’ve also heard some people saying that all this blog stuff is a waste of time. I beg to differ. People do this because they want to talk about stuff that interest them. Sadly but truly not everybody has friends that share the same interests. This is one way of getting birds of the same feather to flock together. For some people, this is a way to vent their frustrations, anger, or just simply to get things off their chest. Why use a blog? Because not everybody can express themselves well verbally. There are also some who use this as a personal journal, noting down everything that has been going on in their life. Sort of like a personal documented life journey. In any case, it’s a way to get it out. As for me, my reasons are a little of everything.

And so, this marks my first blog post…
